  • Author: Haifajackson
  • Total Time: 50 minute

Description

Bulgogi is a traditional Korean dish of thinly sliced marinated beef, grilled to perfection for a sweet and savory flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound thinly sliced rib-eye or sirloin beef
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine or mirin
  • 1/2 pear, grated
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice wine, and grated pear.
  2. Add the beef slices, onion, green onions, and carrot to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well-coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat.
  4. Cook the marinated beef in batches until well-browned and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced beef for the best texture and flavor absorption.
  • Marinating overnight enhances the flavor.
  • Serve with steamed rice, kimchi, and lettuce leaves.
  • Marinating time: 1 hour (minimum) to overnight
  • Cook Time: 10-15 minutes
