- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup of beef broth
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Prepare the vegetables: Slice the bell peppers and onion into strips and mince the garlic.
- Cook the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the vegetables: In the same skillet, add the garlic, onions, and bell peppers. Stir-fry until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
- Combine and cook: Return the beef to the skillet. Add the oyster sauce, beef broth, sugar, and sesame oil (if using). Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
